Tom Hardy went to Barry Island and people can't believe it

Movie star Tom Hardy has been pictured visiting Barry Island.

Although normally spotted on the red carpet, the award-winning actor was seen enjoying himself at the popular amusement park on Saturday.

A picture of the star was shared on the Barry Island Pleasure Park Facebook page with the caption: "Thanks to the legend Tom Hardy for visiting us today and loving Barry island as much as we do."

It comes as the star is filming in Cardiff for his latest role in Netflix movie Havoc.

Many have posted in disbelief that the Hollywood star was in Barry alongside plenty of others disappointed they weren't there to catch a glimpse.

His latest film Havoc tells the tale of a drug deal gone wrong and a detective who has to battle his way through the criminal underworld to rescue the estranged son of a leading politician.

The film, which will air on Netflix, is being directed by Gareth Evans, the Aberdare filmmaker behind the acclaimed bone-crunching martial arts thrillers The Raid and Raid 2, the Michael Sheen horror Apostle and, most recently, Sky Atlantic's Gangs of London.
