CBeebies honoured Tom Hardy's 42nd birthday by showing an appearance on Bedtime Stories.
Just before bedtime, different celebrities read a bedtime story each night on CBeebies.
And much to the delight of his adult admirers rather than the channel's younger target audience, Tom Hardy made his return on Sunday, the Mirror reports.
He was honoured for his birthday by the TV show with a previous episode he appeared in being re-run.
Happy viewers were completely hooked on every word as he read Ross Collins’ book There’s a Bear on My Chair.
People soon turned to social media to share their glee at the evening treat.
One happy viewer tweeted: “Tom Hardy reading the CBBC bedtime story…” accompanied by a heart eye emoji.
Another gushed: Just watched CBeebies bedtime stories with Tom Hardy. It’s a combo of sleep deprivation and my insane crush…but I was totally captivated and just replied Night Night.
Others lusted: “That voice. That face” and “Wow...just wow!!!”
It is not the first time Tom's storytelling has sent Twitter into a meltdown as his soothing voice warmed hearts when one of his episodes was played on Valentine's day in February.
Joined by his pet dog Woodstock, the ridiculously cute scenes sent social media into a frenzy.
One wrote: "@CBeebiesHQ after watching Tom Hardy reading the bedtime story, I'm no longer sad that I'm alone on Valentine's Day! Thank youuuu #TomHardy."
Another then added: "Kids in bed but kept #cbeebies on to listen to Tom Hardy bedtime story on cloud spotting, cloud bloody 9 more like happy valentines to me!"
Shortly afterwards, a different viewer added: "Tom Hardy has made cbeebies way too sexy."
Several other actors including Sir Derek Jacobi, David Hasselhoff, James McAvoy and Damian Lewis, have read similar stories on Cbeebies.
