Tom Hardy stars in the trailer for Venom 2 that has even more bite and Carnage

Having made more than $855m worldwide at the global box office, it was no surprise to learn that Tom Hardy's take on the iconic character of Venom/Eddie brock would be back for another bite.

After the first film saw the failed reporter bond with an alien symbiote, the beloved anti-hero went on a rampage in San Francisco as audiences really resonated with Hardy's off the wall take on the character.

However, in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, fans will get to see the pay off from the events that were set up in the post-credit scene of the original film.

At the end of Venom, Eddie Brock was summoned to San Quentin State Prison to interview the notorious serial killer, Cletus Kasady.

The FBI allowed brock access in the hopes that Kasady would give up details about where some of his victims’ bodies are hidden.

Deranged and psychotic, Kasady says: "“When I get out of here,” he drawls, “and I will ... there’s gonna be carnage.”

In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Tom Hardy returns as the lethal protector Venom as he goes face-to-face with a new foe.

Thankfully, those manic scenes when Eddie Brock has full-on conversations with the symbiote are back in the sequel and it looks like Serkis has added a bit more violence and gore to the proceedings.

Bring it on!

Elsewhere, the cast is very impressive with Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and the brilliant Stephen Graham all on board.

Andy Serkis take over the directors reigns on this one and we have a feeling that Carnage is about to be unleashed.

At present, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled for release in theaters on September 24.
