Tom Hanks looks unrecognisable after going bald for new movie role

Tom Hanks has completely transformed his appearance by going bald for a new movie role.

The Hollywood actor, 64, shaved off his hair and is now sporting a bald head – and he's not too pleased about his new look.

He made the change for his part in Baz Luhrmann's forthcoming Elvis Presley biopic.

Tom had been filming the new movie in Australia earlier this year but production was shut down after the actor and his wife, Rita Wilson, contracted COVID-19.

He plays The King’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, who famously rocked a bald head throughout the singer's legendary career.

Now Tom has finally unveiled what he calls his "horrible" new look during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show.

The Forrest Gump actor took off the hat he was wearing to show his bald head – much to the surprise of his fans.

"Let me show you the horrible hair cut I have to have in order to play Colonel Tom Parker," he said.

He then quickly put the black hat back on before he quipped: "I just scared the children, I want to apologise."

Tom went on to poke fun at host Graham.

He mocked: "What I really wanted to do was just have a little tuft of hair right here and then a big, big beard.

"But then everybody would think I’m Graham Norton!"

Tom's appearance on much-loved BBC One chat-show came in the form of a video call to promote his new Netflix movie News of the World.
