Tom Grennan has given an update on jaw surgery he underwent last year.
The Little Bit Of Love singer, 30, was attacked as a teenager by a group of strangers - but the attack has had a long-term impact on Grennan, psychically and mentally.
After the attack, Grennan had screws and metal plates placed in his jaw to aid his recovery, but they had to be removed last year.
“They were pushing themselves out of my gums,” he told The Times.

“[Having surgery] was a relief for me. I’m no longer reminded of that time in my life.
“It was like I closed the door, and that was me being released, I suppose.”
Grennan - who openly speaks about mental health - also told the publication the impact the shocking attack had on him mentally.
“I think that was the first time my world came crashing down, the first time I really knew what it was like to be depressed, to feel suicidal, like nobody loved me,” he said.
“From one little thing that somebody did. One punch caused an earthquake, a tsunami. It took me years to open up.”
In the interview, Grennan - who is from Bedford - also explained how he thinks it’s easier to speak about mental health openly in London.
“London is a bubble,” he said.
“It’s a façade because people are more free to speak out here. But when you go further adrift, whether that’s up north or down south in these little towns, men are still in a place where they can’t really open up about how they’re feeling.”
It’s not the only surgery Grennan has recently had, he has also recently “had an operation to get a tendon rebuilt”, and he recently explained the impact surgery has on his mental health.
“I’m a person like everybody who suffers with anxiety and mental health,” he told the MailOnline, before his headline performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
“I’ve got a bad ankle; I’ve had to have an operation to get a tendon rebuilt, so I was in a boot for eight weeks. It’s not good; it’s a long recovery.
“So we’ll see what I can do. I’m going to have to get it strapped up—I’m still not comfortable with it. I think that’s where a lot of my anxiousness over the past few months has come from.”
Last year, Grennan married Pilates instructor Danniella Carraturo in a countryside setting.
He confirmed he was getting married during an interview with BBC broadcaster Gabby Logan, after he completed the 2024 London Marathon for homelessness charity Shelter.
