Tom Gates: Genius Ideas (Mostly) by Liz Pichon

This book is Tom's notes from school and his life. The boy talks about his funny situations both at school and home and also about serious and sad ones. He always gets into troubles and he sorts them out. Tom doesn't do what he is supposed to. Instead of lessons he doodles (you can see his doodles in the books). After reading the book I can tell Tom doesn't like school so much. He thinks of different tricks (in my opinion that are 'his genius ideas') to avoid most of lessons except Art and Music.
This book is kind of a mixture of diary and comic. It includes a lot of fantastic drawings and funny styles of writing which make reading faster and more exciting.
If you are interested in Tom's adventures this book is just for you. When you reach for this book, marvellous surprises will wait for you… Look in the right bottom corner!!!!

Tom Gates: Everything's Amazing (Sort Of) by Liz Pichon

I would recommend this book to people who loves to draw and imagine, like all the time.
Tom is a boy with a typical life. His weirdo Dad is always 100% humiliating him in front of everybody. His mum is always suspicious of him. Tom's forever 'grim' looking sister does not make life easier. Looking on the bright side of the book, his friends keep him sweet company. Tom's main friends in the book are: Derek, Solid, Norman and, last but not least, Amy. Tome, Derek and Norman have a band called DogZombies. I think they are the number 1 most weirdo band ever!
SPOILER ALERT Tom totally faints with humiliation when his Dad is the DJ at his school disco UH-OH! Is Tom going to find a way to not play at the disco or will he be doomed. Find out by reading the book.
