It's hard to choose a perfume, isn't it? All those bottles, so little time. Fortunately, Tom Ford has made it easier for us all. Tom, you see, as every single advertiser-pleasing magazine profile will tell you, knows what women likes and how true this is. All I've ever wanted, all my live long life, is a perfume that will rape me.
In the new advertising campaign for his Black Orchid perfume, Tom Ford hired cutprice Helmut Lang, Terry Richardson, to shoot a series of adverts showing the bottle in various positions (snigger!) on a naked woman's glistening body. Oh look, here's the bottle between her breasts, here it is, primed and ready, between her legs. Oh Tom, you are a cad!
But what, LiS cannot help but wonder, does it mean? That women are 'taking control' of their sexuality? That Tom Ford is a 'pioneer' in regards to getting women to express themselves sexually? Or that this plonk is so crap that the only thing to do with it is to shove it where the sun don't shine? LiS readers, over to you
