Tom Fletcher thrilled to be out of isolation ahead of Strictly comeback this weekend

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tom Fletcher is out of quarantine and couldn't look happier to return to the outside world.

The McFly singer, who is set to return to the BBC series this weekend, took to social media on Wednesday morning to share his happiness at no longer having to isolate.

Tom and his professional dance partner Amy Dowden were forced to miss last week's live show after they both tested positive for coronavirus shortly after their debut Strictly performance two weeks ago.

Dad-of-three Tom was forced to isolate for 10 days away from his kids and wife, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! winner Giovanna Fletcher.

After completing his solo lockdown, the 36-year-old musician revealed he was back on dad duties on Wednesday morning.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the jubilant songwriter told his 2 million followers that he was "back on the school drop-off" as she shared a snap of himself in the driver's seat of a car.

The star accompanied the selfie with a snippet of Soul II Soul’s Back To Life - which includes the lyrics "back to life, back to reality".

The Strictly hopeful looked delighted to be out and about and reunited with his old lifestyle after his period of isolation.

Despite being separated, Tom revealed that he and his dance partner and Amy hadn't slowed down when it comes to rehearsing for the hit ballroom dancing competition.

Sharing footage of himself and Amy training from their respective homes on his Instagram page, Tom told his fans: "Isolation is NOT stopping team #MCFLOWDEN on MOVIE WEEK! Can’t wait to do this dance on Saturday! Giving it everything I’ve got."

The dancing duo will be be busting a move to the song Johnny B Goode when they pay homage to Back to the Future for this weekend's Movie Week theme.

Tom's choice of jive will come as no surprise to hardcore McFly fans, who know the film's protagonist Marty McFly was the inspiration for the Brit award-winning band's name.

The Strictly star formed the boyband back in 2003 and they quickly rose to fame with hits such as It's All About You and Five Colours in Her Hair.

The four piece became the youngest band ever to have an album debut at number one - taking the title from the Beatles with Room on the 3rd Floor.

On Wednesday morning, Tom took to his Twitter page to tell his followers how the 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox changed his life.

"I’ve been looking forward to learning to jive since signing up to Strictly so getting to do it dressed as Marty McFLY to the movie that changed my life…I’m living my childhood dream Saturday! CAN’T WAIT!" the star captioned a gif featuring a scene from the hit movie.
