Tom Felton saviour revealed as surfer Kelly Slater after scary golf course collapse

Harry Potter star Tom Felton gave fans a scare last week when he collapsed at the Ryder Cup - but thankfully there were celeb pals nearby able to rush to his aid.

It’s now been revealed that American pro surfer Kelly Slater was leading the charge in getting Tom help, jumping into action and putting the actor into the recovery position.

Kelly and Tom were playing for rival teams at Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on September 23, as part of the annual Ryder Cup festivities.

Kelly was playing on behalf of the US team and rushed to his fellow player’s aid immediately.

Tom, who was representing the Europe team, was later put on a stretcher and taken off the course, with no one any wiser to what Kelly did to help, thanks to the crowd who surrounded them.

“He ran over to Tom and immediately put him in the recovery position well before medics were on the scene,” a source told The Sun .

"He then stayed with him keeping him calm, keeping him as safe as possible."

"Kelly is really humble and hasn't posted about his selfless actions but Tom is grateful for his quick thinking,” they added.

Mirror Online has contacted Slater's reps for further comment.

Thankfully since the incident, Tom has been checked out of hospital and is now recovering.

He has since taken to social media to assure fans that he was OK.

The star said: "Hello everyone, ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the lovely well wishes as of... a scary episode really.

"People have been taking really good care of me so thank you very much to anyone who has sent messages of get well soon, because I am on the mend officially, in case you were worried."

He then broke out into a song telling people not to worry as he played his guitar before ending the video by saying: "Thank you so much for your help, I’m on the road to recovery. Time to go watch some Ryder Cup action. Love you"
