Tom Davies injury update as Everton fear explained

Everton are concerned Tom Davies could face a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Davies will miss the trip to Manchester City on Sunday after picking up the problem in the 0-0 draw with Spurs before the international break.

Although no official time-frame has been put on Davies' absence, it is understood that the current fear is that the midfielder may be out until mid-December.

The 23-year-old joins an injury list that includes Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

Fabian Delph returned to fitness recently and has become a vital player for Benitez given the squad's injury problems in that position.

Benitez had played down the injury when asked about Davies' fitness, on Friday, but it is believed that Everton are planning to be without the Academy product for the next few games.

"He had a knock during the game and we assessed him after the game," Benitez said.

"He has a little problem with his knee so he is another player who is not available at the moment. It will not be too serious but he can not play at the moment."

The Blues go to City on Sunday before a trip to Brentford and then the derby at home to Liverpool on December 1.
