Tom Cruise's kind gesture as he signs football shirts for club fundraiser

Tom Cruise decided to surprise a local football club when he offered to sign some football shirts for their fundraiser.

The 58-year-old Mission: Impossible star, who is currently filming the latest installment of the franchise, was happy to help the grassroots club after they were forced to relocate from Bedfordshire sports ground to make way for filming.

While the team were initially "disappointed" at being unable to access the football pitches, the production company kindly offered to make it up to the group.

Tom Cruise was seen arriving at the town and later gave the club a signed football shirt that they were able to use in their fundraiser.

Woburn & Wavendon Football Club, which was trying to raise £12,000, had suffered serious financial losses as a result of cancelled tournaments the pandemic.

In the social media post shared on the Woburn & Wavendon Football Club Twitter page, Tom Cruise was pictured stood next to a helicopter alongside an image of the one-of-a-kind shirt.

The post said: "Hollywood star Tom Cruise was in town filming near one of our venues, meaning we had to relocate, but the Mission Impossible crew generously gave us their support with Tom signing a few shirts too.

"Those are now available as rewards on our campaign page."
