Tom Cruise 'builds entire COVID-free village for crew of Mission Impossible 7'

Tom Cruise has built an entire village for the cast and crew of the latest Mission Impossible film so they can all isolate together and complete filming.

The blockbuster film franchise in now on to its seventh instalment – but was thrown off course earlier this year with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now 57-year-old franchise frontman Tom has reportedly taken over a disused RAF site in Oxfordshire and erected VIP Winnebago trailers for the cast to live in and be locked away while focusing on completing the daring film.

Mission Impossible Seven had been due to wrap filming by now – but saw production in Venice suspended in March as the global health pandemic escalated.

Producers – including Tom – have taken the step to construct a self-contained environment so that the show can go on.

A source told The Sun: “The film has already been heavily delayed and there’s no sign of things going totally back to normal any time soon, so this is a way to try to get things up and moving again quickly and safely.

“It’s also tough to get hotel rooms at the moment as most of them are shut for the foreseeable future, so it was this or delay things for even longer.

“It will mean some of the world’s biggest stars all living together in a posh campsite while working alongside the rest of the team.

"It’s pricey but Tom always does things bigger and better than anyone, and there’s a hell of a lot riding on this film.”

Cast members Tom, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Fergusson are among the stars expected to bunker down at the make-shift village to whip through the remaining scenes.

They play Ethan Hunt, Benji Dunn, and Isla Faust respectively – while the new film has seen British stars Nicholas Hoult and Hayley Attwell added to the cast.

The film was originally intended to be released in July next year – but has seen the release date pushed back to November 2021 after filming was delayed.

The Mission Impossible film series has been a box office smash for Paramount Pictures since the first movie was unleashed way back in 1996.

So far the film series has earned over $3.5 billion (£2.8 billion) – with at least two more instalments planned for future release.
