Concerned Dundee United supporters have written to the club over fears that rookie Tom Courts is to be appointed their new manager.
United sporting director Tony Asghar is currently going through a selection process with several potential candidates under consideration.
Reports have claimed that United’s head of tactical performances was set to replace Micky Mellon, who stepped down earlier this week.
The Federation of Dundee United Supporters Clubs have concerns, along with a lot of the club’s support, over the fact that the inexperienced Courts was to be handed the top job.
United are considering candidates but there will be a big emphasis on developing youth.
A Federation of DUSC' statement read: "In relation to the current vacant manager position and growing concerns amongst fans with those in charge of the day-to-day running of the club, please be advised that we together with the other members of Dundee United Supporters Group emails the club yesterday (Wednesday) asking for a response with 72 hours."
Courts took temporary charge last season when Micky Mellon had to self-isolate after a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.
He has done a big job in promoting some of United's youngsters to the Premiership like Kerr Smith and Lewis Neilson.
Meanwhile, Ipswich Town are interested in Benjy Siegrist. United's keeper is the Tannadice side's player of the year.
