Tom Brady won’t join the Fox booth until 2024 and NFL fans were thrilled for Greg Olsen

When Tom Brady announced his retirement (again) last week, there was the expectation that he would be joining Fox’s lead NFL announcing team in the near future. After all, he had signed a massive 10-year, $375 million contract to work in broadcasting.

Well, it turns out we are going to have to wait a bit longer for Brady’s announcing debut. And that’s especially great news for Greg Olsen.

In a Monday appearance on The Herd, Brady said that he would be starting with Fox in 2024. Brady added that the time would give him an opportunity to better prepare for the role and a year break would probably just be beneficial overall after a long playing career.

Of course, the decision to delay Brady’s broadcasting career was easier for Fox given the tremendous success Olsen has been in that lead analyst role. The network doesn’t need to rush Brady into the booth when it has such a capable talent in Olsen.

Olsen will be the analyst for Sunday’s Super Bowl on Fox alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt who was elevated to that top spot after Joe Buck and Troy Aikman left for ESPN.

We don’t know what Brady will be like in the booth, but fans were definitely thrilled to have another year of Olsen with the top Fox team.
