Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers agree to 4-year extension

Busy day for quarterbacks with New England Patriots ties. First, the report Cam Newton will be back in Foxborough. Then, huge news Tom Brady has agreed to a four-year extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady has said he wants to play until he is 45. This would take the 43-year-old way beyond that.

The extension also helps Tampa Bay when it comes to cap flexibility.

Per ESPN:

The move saves the Buccaneers $19 million against the cap this year, sources said. The additional voidable years are there to defray the cost. It was another effort from Brady to keep as much of the team together as possible.

In his first season as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Brady led the team to a Super Bowl championship. The victory over the Kansas City Chiefs earned Brady his seventh Super Bowl title.
