Tom Brady surpasses Brett Favre, moves into third place on all-time passing list

Accolades continue to rack up for the 42-year-old Tom Brady.

He passed Brett Favre on the all-time passing leader list and now is third behind Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Brady entered his Week 5 matchup against the Washington Redskins with 71,575 passing yards and finished the game with 348 passing yards — which adds up to 71,923 all-time.

Brady’s only 17 passing yards away from taking Manning’s spot as the second leader on the list.

He needed 264 passing yards entering the game and he completed that feat with a 15-yard reception to Julian Edelman.

The 40-year-old Brees is comfortably sitting at the top of the list with 74,437 passing yards and he’s still active in the NFL. It’ll be difficult for Brady to surpass Brees as the all-time leader, but there’s no doubt that he’ll be at least second on the list.

Brady also became the first quarterback to throw 600 passing touchdowns in the regular and postseason. His final touchdown of the game to Ryan Izzo was passing touchdown No. 600.
