New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shared a tribute to his father, Tom Brady Sr., on Instagram during Father’s Day on Sunday.
Brady wrote: “Happy Fathers Day to ‘The Original!’ Everyone knows who my hero is.. thanks for everything dad.”
Brady is referencing a moment during the lead-up to Super Bowl LI in 2017 when the quarterback explained why his father was his hero. Brady was particularly emotional, because his mother was undergoing treatment for cancer, which is now in remission.
“Who’s my hero?” Brady said during Super Bowl media night two years ago. “That’s a great question. Well, I think my dad is my hero. Because he’s someone I look up to every day.”
