Tom Brady shares a wild and disgusting story about a sports hernia

An NFL locker room is a place where just about anything flies. From sharing stories from their crazy college days to pranks that leave players with career-long nicknames, nothing is too much.

So, it’s not a total surprise when Tom Brady told the world he got made fun of for an injury. In an interview with Howard Stern for SiriusXM, Brady told Stern that he had suffered a hernia (an organ or tissue getting through the muscle or connective tissue) in a game.

In Brady’s case, his hernia was in his groin. As he described to Stern, the injury made his testicles swell up to the size of oranges. After that, former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel called Brady “Purple Balls” for a while.

Brady also added that Cassel drew pictures of the effects of Brady’s injury and put them in his locker frequently.

This just goes to show that while these guys are wealthy, competitive athletes playing at the highest level, at the end of the day, they’re just normal guys hanging out.
