Tom Brady's message to Antonio Brown after team-mate stormed off mid-game

Tom Brady has sent a sympathetic message to now ex-teammate Antonio Brown, after the wide receiver stormed off the pitch as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the New York Jets.

Brown caused all sorts of drama as he took off his Bucs jersey and pads, gestured a piece out sign to the crowd and stormed down the stadium tunnel midway through the third quarter.

The wide receiver was reportedly angered with a conversation he had with a member of the team staff whilst on the sidelines.

At the time of his walk off Tampa found themselves down 24-10 to the Jets, however a spirited fightback saw them run out 28-24 winners

Following Brown’s outburst, the Bucs head coach Broce Arians confirmed after the game that Brown was ‘no longer a Buc’.

He said: “He is no longer a Buc. That is the end of the story. Let's talk about the guys who went out there and won the game."

Post-match NFL legend, and fellow Tampa player Brady gave his thoughts on the dramatic scenes which no doubt caused chaos in the team dressing room.

Brady commented: “That's obviously a difficult situation. ... We all love him and care about him deeply.

“We want to see him be at his best and unfortunately it won’t be with our team, but we have a lot of friendships that will last.”

The seven-time Super Bowl winner went on to offer his sympathies to Brown, in what seems to be a difficult situation for the former Bucs man.

He added: “ The most important thing about football is the relationship with your friends and teammates, they go beyond the field.

“I think everyone should be compassionate and empathetic toward some very difficult things that are happening.”

Brown did take to his social media pages after the game, uploading an image of himself to Instagram dressed in a Nova Men outfit with the caption: “Football is what we do, not who we are! Love”

He then followed this up with an action shot in his Bucs kit and wrote: “Big MAD (Making A Difference) Thanks for the opportunity”
