Tom Brady reassures Chiefs fans, Patrick Mahomes that he broke ‘Madden’ curse

Ideally, there would be excitement and joy for NFL players when they make it onto the cover of the “Madden NFL” video game series.

There has been an idea floating around for years that any player that makes it onto the cover will indeed be cursed. Whether that is due to poor performance or injury, it has happened more times than not.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was announced today as the cover star for “Madden NFL 20” — and Tom Brady reassured him that the curse is now broken.

Brady was on the cover of “Madden NFL 18” in 2017 and immediately posted a video saying that he would that there is no such thing as curses. Since then, he has made it to two consecutive Super Bowls and won one of them.

Mahomes is coming off of an incredible year with the Chiefs after being a play away from a Super Bowl berth. He finished last season with 5,097 passing yards, 50 touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 113.8 — and he also pulled away as the league’s MVP.

Either Brady broke the curse, or he was just too elite to be affected by it.
