Tom Brady pleads with Martellus Bennett to unretire and join the Patriots

Tom Brady seems pleased to have one Bennett brother. But Brady wouldn’t mind having them both around for the 2019 season.

Brady commented on an Instagram post, pleading tight end Martellus Bennett to come out of retirement and join Michael on the Patriots.

New England could use Bennett next season. Tight end Rob Gronkowski is considering retirement, and oft-injured Jacob Hollister is the next-best tight end on the roster. What’s more, the Patriots are looking at Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett and Josh Gordon as the viable options at receiver, with Gordon’s position tenuous due to his suspension and the fact that he’s a restricted free agent.

Bennett had a successful 2016 season with New England, when he had 55 receptions for 701 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, and helped them win Super Bowl LI.
