Tom Brady passes Peyton Manning for No. 2 on NFL passing yards list

Tom Brady gained another incredible accolade during his Thursday night victory over the New York Giants.

Brady passed Peyton Manning to take over the No. 2 spot for all-time passing yards in the NFL. He went into Thursday night with only 18 yards needed to pass Manning’s career 71,940 mark — and he completed that on a 19-yard pass to Sony Michel. He finished the game with 334 passing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 35-14 victory.

The only player above Brady now is Drew Brees, who’s sitting comfortably with 74,845 passing yards. Brees is 40 years old and still active in the league, so it’ll be difficult for the 42-year-old Brady to surpass him. Although, Brady holds the all-time record when playoffs are included.

Manning currently holds the record of touchdown passes thrown with 539, and Brady’s quickly creeping up with 527. Brady continues to cement his legacy as the NFL’s greatest quarterback and every milestone that he accomplishes will help build that argument. Right now, he’s starting to breeze past Manning’s records.
