Tom Brady, Josh Gordon link up for beastly TD, the Patriots’ 1st of 2019

Josh Gordon reminded the New England Patriots of his tremendous talent during the team’s Week 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.

Gordon managed a 20-yard touchdown reception on a simple dump-off pass from Brady. Gordon broke a few tackles on the way to the end zone, and converted his first catch of the 2019 season into a touchdown.

The Patriots got into the red zone after a double pass from Julian Edelman to James White. Coincidentally, Gordon was open downfield on the play and — if the ball had been thrown well — could have scored a touchdown. Instead, Edelman swung the ball to the opposite side of the formation to White for a 32-yard gain. After getting looked off on that play, Gordon still managed to find the end zone.

Linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who was inactive (likely because his wife is on the verge of having a child), was cheering for Gordon while watching the game.
