Tom Brady jokes ripped trousers 'were social distancing' during The Match charity golf event

Is there anything Tom Brady can't do?

The six-time Super Bowl champion (and four-time Super Bowl MVP) took to the golf course on Sunday to take part in 'The Match' charity event alongside Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning and Phil Mickelson.

OK, the the first six holes didn't necessarily go to plan for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, but he pointed out that "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" - and duly delivered.

Brady sunk a stunning approach shot from 100+ yards on the par-five seventh to card a birdie.

Commentator Charles Barkley had been poking fun at Brady for much of the round before the incredible birdie shot, but the 42-year-old aimed a barb back after his heroics. "Shut your mouth, Chuck. Take some of that medicine," Brady said after celebrating.

But after holing out from the fairway, Brady was brought back down to earth with a bump when his trousers split as he removed the ball from the cup.

He later said on Twitter: "Pants wanted in on social distancing I guess..."

Woods and Manning held off a late challenge to beat Mickelson and Brady as they raised $20 million for Covid-19 relief efforts.

"We all came together and were able to raise $20 million for those that have been so severely affected," Woods said.

"I take my hat off to Tom and Peyton. This is our arena, this is what we do for a living. I couldn't imagine going on the field and do what they do."
