Tom Brady is tied with sixth-best MVP odds for 2019

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has the sixth-best MVP odds for the 2019 season at 14-1, via Betonline.com.

Those odds tie Brady with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and put the Patriots quarterback behind Baker Mayfield (12-1), Carson Wentz (9-1), Andrew Luck (9-1), Aaron Rodgers (9-1) and Patrick Mahomes (6-1).

Brady is fresh off a season where he regressed statistically, even if the Patriots were excellent and won Super Bowl LIII. He completed 65.8% of his passes for 4,355 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Brady is also losing one of his favorite targets in 2019 in Rob Gronkowski, who retired this offseason. The Patriots also seemed intent upon featuring their running back group, particularly Sony Michel, as the 2018 season wound down, and New England added another runner in the draft in Alabama’s Damien Harris.

As it’s possible the Patriots shy away from the passing game in 2019, Brady may be a risky bet for MVP, especially with high-powered passing offenses inflating the stats of the league’s other quarterbacks.
