Former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning are participating in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament in California this week. The brothers exchanged playful jabs in interviews and enjoyed their time on the course on Friday.
Peyton had a remarkable shot on one of the holes and after a golf podcast joked that Tom Brady could have done better, the Patriots’ pending free agent shot back on Twitter with a backhanded compliment for his former on-field rival.
“Peyton is the better golfer right now,” Brady tweeted. “He’s had much more practice these past few years.”
Brady, of course, is referencing that he’s 42 years old and does not plan on hanging up his cleats just yet. Manning, on the other hand, is just one year older and he has been retired from the NFL for four years now.
It was good-natured humor from Brady, who remains friends with Manning. Maybe they’ll get to hit the links together after Brady eventually retires.
