Tom Brady found a funny way to tell his dad to cool it with his comments about the Patriots

I don’t know if you’ve heard about this but Tom Brady is heading back to the greater-Boston area this Sunday night to face his former team, the New England Patriots, for the first time since he joined the Buccaneers.

Brady had some success during his 20 years in New England, as he led the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles and stamped his status as the GOAT in the process.

His departure after the 2019 season was an awkward one for both sides as Bill Belichick basically decided to move on from the legendary QB, who then went on to win a Super Bowl last season with the Bucs.

Last week Brady’s dad, Tom Brady Sr., was asked by Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston if he and his son felt any sort of vindication from that Super Bowl win.

Here’s what he said:

“Damn right,” he told Curran. “Damn right. Belichick wanted him out the door and last year he threw 56 touchdowns. I think that’s a pretty good year.”

Does Brady feel the same way?

“Damn right,” Brady Sr. answered.

That’s a proud dad sticking up for his son but yeah, Tom Brady the QB once again had to tell his dad to calm down with his comments about the Patriots.

He had this to say Monday on his podcast with Jim Grey:

“I’ve actually prepared a statement that I wanted to say, and it’s really all that I have to say on the subject. Comments made by Thomas Edward Brady, a 77-year-old insurance company CEO who should know better at this point in his life, doesn’t necessarily reflect the views or positions held by his son, Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr., so furthermore should Tom Sr. continue to speak out on behalf of his son without the express written consent, Tom Jr. reserves the right to eventually put him in a home against his will. That’s all I have to say.”

This Sunday night should be a fun one.
