Tom Brady files for trademark on ‘TB x TB’ after signing with Buccaneers

Tom Brady’s new journey with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has already sparked some business ideas.

The former New England Patriots quarterback has spent his NFL career actively on the business side of things, just as much as he’s focused on winning. Brady’s racked up countless endorsements and he built his own brand with ‘TB12 Sports’.

While welcoming Brady to Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers coined the term ‘TB x TB’. Brady’s agents quickly capitalized on the clever slogan and filed a trademark for it, according to FOX Business.

Here’s what FOX Business said.

Yee & Dubin Sports, Brady’s longtime representatives, filed an application to trademark the phrase “TB x TB” on March 20, according to a document published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark was filed on a 1b basis, which signifies an intent to use for commerce.

The filing states the trademark is sought for use on “Clothing, namely, shirts, t-shirts, pants, shorts, sweatshirts, sweaters, jerseys, sleepwear, athletic tops and bottoms, and headwear.

Brady’s continuing to brand himself on and off the field, fully capitalizing on his opportunities.
