Tom Brady cuts ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and his kids from Twitter cover after public divorce

NFL icon Tom Brady has removed an image of ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and their children from his Twitter cover following their high-profile divorce.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion edited his model former wife out of his Twitter header photo, removing a beach picture of the family and their children Benjamin and Vivian Lake along with his older son Jack interlocking arms. Instead, Brady now has a photo of himself from a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.

Brady finalised his divorce from the 42-year-old recently after 13 years of marriage. The couple started dating back in December 2006 and were married in February 2009.

Back in February, Brady retired from the NFL after 22 years. However, the 45-year-old quickly reversed his decision and returned amid much fanfare before taking an unprecedented 11-day ‘leave of absence’ in the middle of training camp with the Bucs with speculation about his personal life swirling.

Bundchen gave insight into her thoughts regarding Brady’s decision to come out of retirement through an interview in March, noting she would like the four-time MVP to be ‘more present’ in family life. Brady is currently in his 23rd season in the league and his third year with the Buccaneers, who sit at 5-5.

Brady didn’t just crop Bundchen out of his social media account as he also changed his profile picture. He replaced the shot of himself with orange glowing eyes for a computer-generated Roman bust bearing his image.

This is more likely to be linked to his ties to the collapsing cryptocurrency industry rather than his breakup. Brady initially adopted the laser-eyed profile pic in 2021 in a nod to Bitcoin, which was promoting itself at the time using a social media campaign involving such headshots.

Last year, Brady and Bundchen took an equity stake in FTX - a cryptocurrency exchange which was recently bailed out by rival Binance with investments crashing. The duo even appeared in FTX advertisements and reportedly were paid in cryptocurrency.

Amid his personal life troubles, Brady and the Buccaneers are improving as the season rumbles on. They are back to .500 as they secured a historic win over the Seattle Seahawks at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena on Sunday.

Brady threw for 258 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help the Buccaneers to the win in the NFL’s first regular season match in Germany. Tampa Bay now possess a healthy lead atop the NFC South and will enjoy a bye week before they face the Cleveland Browns on November 27.
