Tom Brady congratulates Aaron Rodgers for owning the Bears

One of the storylines that’s dominated headlines since the Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday was Aaron Rodgers not-so-subtle jab at the Bears and their fans.

“All my (expletive life), I own you,” Rodgers shouted to the crowd after scoring the game-clinching touchdown. “I still own you.”

That response, while true, garnered reaction from fans and even former Bears center Olin Kreutz, who said he’d like to “punch [Rodgers] in his face.”

Add Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who faces Chicago on Sunday, to the list of those having some fun at the expense of the Bears.

During a guest stint on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Brady congratulated Rodgers for owning the Bears.

“I wanted to say congrats to Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, I know he’s a great quarterback, but I guess he’s now a shareholder of the Bears. I saw a clip of him enthusiastically telling the crowd how happy he is to own Soldier Field. That’s really great stuff. He owns the [Milwaukee Bucks] now, [and he’s] part owner of Soldier Field. He’s got a great career beyond football.”

The Bears will face the Buccaneers on Sunday in a rematch of a Week 5 matchup from last season, which Chicago pulled off a 20-19 upset on Thursday Night Football with Nick Foles.

With the Buccaneers riding high at 5-1, it’s going to be another difficult game for the Bears, who did a good job of pressuring Brady to the tune of three sacks in last year’s win. But, as always, Chicago is going to need its offense to step up if there’s any chance to pull off the upset.
