Quarterback Tom Brady officially signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday, he announced on Instagram. Brady posted an image of himself signing his new contract.
Brady announced earlier this week that he’d be leaving the New England Patriots, though he didn’t yet have a decision on his landing spot. By Wednesday, it became clear he was headed to Tampa, and though Brady and the Buccaneers had a few snags in contract negotiations, they seemed to complete the deal on Friday morning.
“Excited, humble and hungry … if there is one thing I have learned about football, it’s that nobody cares what you did last year or the year before that … you earn the trust and respect of those around through your commitment every single day,” Brady wrote on Instagram on Friday. “I’m starting a new football journey and thankful for the @buccaneers for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do.”
Patriots fans did not respond well to the news.
