Tom Brady became the most sacked QB of all time and NFL fans reveled in the record

In his extended, future Hall of Fame career, Tom Brady owns every major passing record in NFL history. Pass yards (86,462). Pass completions (7,461). Pass touchdowns (632). And now, after taking back-to-back sacks from the Ravens’ Justin Houston on Thursday night, Brady owns a more dubious all-time record — He is the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history.

Brady’s mark isn’t all that impressive when you consider he’s played most of almost 23 years of NFL football. During that time, he actually had competent offensive lines for the better part of it, and he’s also almost always been a quick-release quarterback. This is more a mark — which officially surpasses the since-retired Ben Roethlisberger — that arose because Brady is just playing … forever.

All that said, the NFL world seemed to really appreciate Brady becoming the most-sacked quarterback of all time. For a player (and sports villain!) many love to hate, it’s almost as if people were split between congratulating Brady and hoping for many more sacks of the legend as long he keeps playing.
