Heading into Saturday’s NFC Wild Card round matchup between the Washington Football Team and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there was a fair share of bulletin-board material coming from Washington rookie Chase Young.
Young, the clear favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year, left the field following Washington’s playoff-clinching win against the Eagles shouting, “Tom Brady! Tom Brady, I’m coming. I want Tom. I want Tom!”
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians even went with the old “be careful what you wish for” rebuttal.
And come Saturday, Young failed to record a sack on Brady in Washington’s loss. But despite the lead-up to the game, there was plenty of respect between Young and Brady when it was all said and done.

The Buccaneers shared mic’d-up video of the postgame exchange between Brady and Young. The Bucs quarterback greeted Young by first name, and Young let him know that Brady was the “real GOAT.”
Young had one request, though. He wanted Brady’s jersey, which the future Hall of Fame quarterback was happy to send Young’s way.
The entire exchange was just great.
