Tom Allen's mum has been told off by police for defying coronavirus lockdown rules

Tom Allen has shared that his mum has had a 'run in' with the law during the coronavirus lockdown.

The comedian, 36, who is currently isolating with his two parents in Bromley, London, shared on his mum getting in trouble with the police as he appeared on a live video link on Channel 4's The Steph Show on Wednesday.

Explaining what happened, the joker told presenter Steph McGovern that his mum was berated by a police constable for "mooching" when a cop spotted her looking into an estate agent's window display during her daily walk.

Tom shared: "She was told ‘this isn’t a time for mooching'."

He then joked she was arrested and taken to prison and that he was due to arrange her bail later on in the afternoon.

Tom - who always puts on a dapper display - ensured he showcased his sartorial flair as he appeared on-screen in a striped grey suit teamed with a lavender shirt and purple tie.

One fan picked up on Tom's suave ensemble and Tweeted: "I love how @tomallencomedy is still so sharply dressed in lockdown #thestephshow."

The funnyman was surrounded by a number of lush plants for his daytime TV appearance and returned a number of times throughout the hour-long show to chat with Steph.

The special lockdown TV series - that broadcaster Steph is filming and hosting from her own living room - has been praised by watchers.
