Tollcross fire treated as 'deliberate' as cops probe Glasgow accountants blaze

Police probing a major fire in Glasgow are treating it as deliberate.

Emergency services were called to the "well-developed" blaze at the J M Simpson & Co accountants on Tollcross Road at around 8.15pm on Saturday evening.

Police, four fire engines and an aerial platform were in attendance at the height of the fire.

The area was also cordoned off by police and road diversions remain in place.

There are not thought to be any injuries.

A joint investigation has since been launched as officers revealed the fire is being treated as deliberate.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Emergency services attended a fire at a commercial building on Tollcross Road at around 8.15pm.

"Emergency services are still on the scene but there are no reports of any injuries.

"It is being treated as wilful and a joint investigation with the police and fire service is under way.

"Road diversions are in place."
