Tolcross Farm welcomes new lamb named Hope as staff go above and beyond to deliver her early

A new little lamb was welcomed into the world at Tollcross Farm yesterday - a staff weren't sheepish about going above and beyond to assist with the birth.

The children's farm, on Wellshot Road, has been running with a reduced number of staff following the coronvirus crisis.

But the team were quick to flock to the farm when they heard news that a new arrival was on its way.

Farm livestock supervisor Hugh Boyle returned early from his annual leave to help deliver the lamb, named Hope, along with the help of two new staff volunteers.

The farm told Glasgow Live: "Susan Boyd and David Cann normally work on Glasgow Life contracts but volunteered to get involved and help support the animals on the farm.

"They had an exciting first week and learnt perhaps more than they expected when a new lamb made a quick and unexpected early arrival."

They did a terrific job - just look at that cutie!

Well done to all the staff (new and old) at Tollcross Farm and welcome to the world, Hope. You are just what we've been looking for.
