Tokyo World 2022: Everything you need to know ahead of ticket sale

By Tristan Cork

Festival-goers will be poised by their phones and computers from 8am on Thursday when tickets for one of Bristol's biggest and most popular festivals go on sale.

Tokyo World 2022 is happening in the middle weekend of September - the 17th and 18th - and will once again be back at Eastville Park, right next to the M32 in Bristol.

There had been a pre-sale announcement back in late March, but Thursday is when the main tickets go on sale to everyone.

Tokyo World 2021: The best dressed people at the festival

Last year, Tokyo World was the first major event on the Bristol summer schedule to return with the easing of covid restrictions last summer - and more than 40,000 festival-goers enjoyed two days of banging dance tunes, hip hop and rap in the park.

So while many festivals, like Glastonbury, are returning for the first time in three years, Tokyo World has a head-start and is back for the second year post-Covid.

This year, the festival is being headlined by Busta Rhymes, with the likes of Above & Beyond, Faithless, Pendulum and Mike Skinner from The Streets at the top of the bill. Among the DJs lined up to crack open their sets are Annie Mac, Honey Dijon and Jamie Jones.

To celebrate tickets going on sale, the Tokyo World Instagram account was giving away weekend passes - or at least the chance to win a pair - to their 42,000 followers.
