Tokyo World 2019: Police presence, search policy and banned items

Tokyo World is just days away from returning and as ever there's lots to look forward to.

The festival's production and lineup have both improved since it first took over Eastville Park, with huge acts from a wide range of genres performing on eye-catching stages.

This year's two-day event, which takes place on September 21 and 22, will play host to some massive acts including Craig David, De La Soul, Gorgon City and Leftfield.

But before you can enjoy the music, you'll want to make sure you don't get caught out when you enter. Below is everything you need to know about the festival's security measures, including banned items.

Police and security

There will be strict search policies in place at the festival gates. Security will have the right to refuse entry if any illegal substances or banned items are found in your possession or you are deemed unfit for entry.

Police will also be on site and anyone in breach of the law may be detained and arrested.

As well as working within the arena there will be security working outside the event and within the whole of Eastville Park.

This year the arena space will be secured by a 20-foot steel shield, so do not make a wasted trip to Eastville Park if you do not have a ticket.

There will be both patrolling and static security both inside and around the outside of the entire perimeter of the steel shield.

This year will see the return of Delta Security, who the festival worked with successfully on all festivals prior to 2018.
