Tokyo turns out to count down New Year's Eve

The area around JR Shibuya Station, Tokyo, was crowded with young people celebrating New Year's Eve.

At the scramble crossing in front of the station -- an iconic spot in Tokyo -- people counted down in unison. When the clock struck midnight, they high-fived each other, celebrating "a happy New Year!"

In the same area around Shibuya Station, people were arrested last October after incidents such as a lightweight truck being overturned by revelers.
