Tokyo Sport Playground has opened in the Toyosu area of Koto Ward, Tokyo, as a free park for people of all ages.

Sporting goods maker Nike Japan and Mitsui Fudosan Residential Co. jointly established the facility in time for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics next summer. The facility is open through Sept. 20, 2021, a couple of weeks after the end of the Tokyo Paralympics.

The 7,000-square-meter park is divided into six areas and includes an about 280-meter-long track and a basketball court. The color of each area is based on a motif from past Nike shoes.

The park is also accessible for wheelchair users as the floors in the shower rooms and toilets are flat.

Use of the park is free, but requires preregistering on the Nike app.
