Tokyo counted 161 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the first time in six days for the number to be below 200, the Tokyo metropolitan government said.
Monday's tally raised the capital's cumulative total to 17,875.
The last time the daily figure was below 200 was on Aug. 11, when 188 new cases were recorded.
