Tokyo reports 378 new virus cases, 6th day in row under 400

Tokyo confirmed 378 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, the metropolitan government announced.

The daily figure stood below 400 for the sixth consecutive day, as the number of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms in Tokyo fell by five from the previous day to 87.

According to Tokyo, the average number of new infections over the past week was 353.6 per day, 69.6% of the previous week's daily average of 508.3.
