Tokyo Paralympics: Co Down swimmer Bethany Firth claims second medal of Games

Co Down swimmer Bethany Firth won her fifth Paralympic gold medal as she helped Team GB to a world record in Tokyo.

Firth joined teammates Reece Dunn, Jessica-Jane Applegate and Jordan Catchpole in clocking 3:40.63 time in the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle relay.

Their record-breaking performance saw them beat silver medallists Australia by almost six seconds.

It sees Firth add a gold to the silver she won in the 200m Freestyle S14 at the Tokyo Games.

The Newtownards swimmer still has two more medal opportunities, with the 200m IM SM14 on Tuesday and 100m Backstroke S14 on Thursday.
