That's it for us!

The women's football final between Sweden and Canada has gone to extra-time, but we need to shut this off for the night and refuel for tomorrow.
And would you look at that, there is a bit on tomorrow! We've got the women's marathon starting bright and early tomorrow, the likes of Ollie Hoare and Stewart McSweyn in the 1,500m final, Hannah Green lurking around the medals, the Boomers playing for bronze, some kayaking, some diving... a whole lot really!
Be sure to join us tomorrow. But before then, get some sleep. You've earned it.

ATHLETICS: IT'S ITALY! FORZA ITALIA!
Mama mia, what a race that was! It seriously came down to the last 50 metres, where it looked for all money like Great Britain were going to hold on for the gold... but Italy came home with a bullet to steal the win by 0.01 of a second. Unbelievable! It's Euro 2020 all over again!
Canada finish third to wrap up the medal positions. What a race, worth staying up for!

ATHLETICS: Men's 4x100m relay to bring us home
Who's tired? NOT ME. We've got one more big race left tonight, so pin those eyelids open for another five minutes and 40 seconds or so.
It's the men's 4x100m relay final, and it could be seriously quick.

ATHLETICS: Jamaica romps it home!
They were the favourites in the women's 4x100m, they were the ones to watch, and despite a nervy moment during the first changeover, they were never headed.
A time of 41.02 is pretty rapid. The United States were second, Great Britain third.

ATHLETICS: Relay time!
Two big relays coming up in the next 20 minutes.
The women's 4x100m is up first, followed by the men's. These are generally pretty fun.

FOOTBALL: Women's final all squared up from the penalty spot
Canada's Jessie Fleming nets from the spot and the last 20 minutes are going to be veeeeeerrrry interesting.

Where's the beef?
Man I wish Kelsey-Lee got that extra piece of beef
-Hangry
If only Kelsey-Lee's brother let her have that last piece of beef!!
-C'mon Greg!
Maybe if Greg had let Kelsey have the beef, she might have got silver...

Given this is the ABC, I'm obliged to say I have no idea what you are talking about.

Tears of joy from Kelsey-Lee

Remember she only just qualified for this final with her final throw of the qualifying rounds. She's been on a knife's edge all competition, but has held her nerve unbelievably (how about that steely death stare?!?) to emerge a champion.
Here's how it all finished up:

The Barber a cut above!
Woooohooooo! Bronze in the Javelin. And 3 of our girls in the top 8. Fantastic!!!
-Mandy
My goodness the emotion on Kelsea-Lee’s face when she knew she got the bronze had me tearing up! Well done to all 3 ladies!
Off to have some beef - it clearly worked for Barber!
-Something in my eye
Woohoo!!!! Congrats Kelsey-Lee!!!
-Alison
Barber has got herself a medal!!!!!
-I'll buy some beef now

JAVELIN: KELSEY-LEE BARBER WINS BRONZE!
What a performance! The world champion of 2019 is now an Olympic bronze medallist!

By Dean Bilton
JAVELIN: Kelsey-Lee Barber unleashes...
IT'S CLOSE! Has she nicked silver here?!?!?!
She's FIVE CENTIMETRES short of silver!
By Dean Bilton
JAVELIN: KELSEY-LEE BARBER HAS A MEDAL!
It's guaranteed now! But can she improve on her current bronze position?
By Dean Bilton
JAVELIN: Eda Tugsuz goes long...
It's FOUR CENTIMETRES short of Barber's best! PHEW.

JAVELIN: Kathryn Mitchell fouls again
Which we now know is so they don't have to bother measuring it, because it wasn't very good.
Thanks Kathryn, and bloody well done. Sixth in the Olympics, a hell of an effort.
Oh, and Kelsey-Lee Barber is only two throws away from a guaranteed Olympic medal.

JAVELIN: Mackenzie Little signs off
With a 54.51, again her shortest of the night. But she finishes eighth in the Olympic Games, which is most certainly nothing to sneeze at.

JAVELIN: The leader might be injured?
Shiying Liu is in front and is not taking her fifth throw. I think she has a physical problem, and doesn't want to waste the last effort her body left when she doesn't (yet) ned too. Very interesting.
Here's where we are:

Faith Kipyegon wins gold for Kenya in the 1,500m!
What a run by the Kenyan, setting a new Olympic record of 3:53.11.
Sifan Hassan gets bronze after leading the race from the start until about 250 metres to go, when Kipyegon put the pedal down. Hassan tried to go with her but couldn't match the Kenyan's kick, and she was overrun by Great Britain's Laura Muir, who wins silver.
Linden Hall finishes sixth with a PB of 3:59.01 and Jess Hull gets 11th.
By Dean Bilton
JAVELIN: Kelsey-Lee Barber's penultimate attempt...
Her shortest of the night at 58.85. But she remains in third, and is only a few throws away from being guaranteed a medal.
FYI they're fouling deliberately on bad throws so the officials don't have to spend time measuring them.
-Javelin fouls
Fouls save time of having to measure a throw they're know if shorter :) sportsmanship pf not wasting everyone's night
-For Alison and Deam
Thank you! That's awfully nice of the throwers.
