There's just one day to go until the Tokyo Olympics officially starts but the Aussies are already itching to take their first steps towards gold.
The Tokyo Olympics are broadcast in Australia on free-to-air TV on Channel Seven, as well as streaming platform 7Plus.
Here are the events to watch on and Thursday, July 22, and the results from Wednesday July 21.
Football: Argentina v Australia
The Olyroos will take on Argentina at Sapporo Dome from 8:30pm to 10:30pm AEST on Thursday evening.
Thursday's football is being held across four venues: Sapporo Dome, Ibaraki Kashima Stadium, Tokyo Stadium and International Stadium Yokohama.
Gold-medal favourites Spain will kick of the evening's events at 5:30pm AEST.
Australia will get a chance to face the Spaniards at 8:30pm on Sunday, July 25.
Softball: Italy vs Australia
The opening round of softball at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium continues on Thursday with Italy facing off against Australia from 4:00pm to 6:00pm AEST.
Australia and Italy both lost their opening games on Wednesday with Japan crushing the Aussies 8-1, and the US beating Italy 2-0.
Thursday's softball will tee off from 10:00am AEST with the US against Canada, followed by Mexico versus Japan at 1:00pm AEST.
Shooting
Shooting training for the men and womens' 10m Air Rifle and Air Pistol begins on Thursday at the Asaka Shooting Range from 10:00am AEST.
Australia's first medal shooting events are on Saturday, July 24.
Football: Australia vs New Zealand
The Matildas and the Football Ferns went head-to-head at Tokyo Stadium from 9:30pm to 11:30pm AEST last night.
The Aussies beat their trans-Tasman rivals, but at the end of the competition it's the US who are the favourite to take home their fifth gold medal.
It will be a clash of the green and gold versus the red, white and blue on Tuesday, July 27 at Ibaraki Kashima Stadium.
