On Sunday, Charlotte Worthington sensationally won gold in the inaugural women’s BMX freestyle final, while gymnast Max Whitlock also bagged top honours in the men’s pommel horse final.
GB also claimed silver in the 4x100m men’s medley relay to cap their best ever Games in the pool with eight medals.
There is the chance for more glory on Monday as the equestrian eventers are looking good in both the team and individual categories.
Charlotte Dobson and Saskia Tidey have an outside chance of medalling in the women’s 49er FX sailing race with Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell second in the men’s 49er, but the sailing programme was postponed on Monday due to lack of wind.
Weightlifter Emily Campbell is also in action today in the women’s +87kg category. One of her competitors will be New Zealand’s Laurel Hubbard, the first transgender athlete to compete in the Games. That begins at 11:50am BST.
Other highlights of Day Ten include the medal events in the women’s 100m hurdles, the men’s long jump and 3,000m steeplechase and the women’s team sprint as the track cycling begins at the Izu Velodrome.
