Tokyo Olympics 2021 LIVE! Tom Daley, Tom Pidcock and Adam Peaty win gold; latest news, medal count and results

Tokyo Olympics 2021 - LIVE!

It has been a stunning, golden morning for Great Britain on day three of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Adam Peaty successfully defended his Olympic title from Rio 2016 as he competed in the men’s 100m breaststroke final and it was to prove the start of a gold rush.

Later in the day, Tom Daley finally claimed an elusive first Olympic gold medal at his fourth Games, partnering Matty Lee to glory in the men’s synchornized 10m platform final.

Within minutes, a third gold was on the board as 21-year-old Tom Pidcock romped away from the field to land Britain’s first ever mountain biking medal.

Earlier in the day, 23-year-old Londoner Alex Yee had earned a terrific silver in the men’s triathlon.

Elsehwere in the pool, Ariarne Titmus got the better of Katie Ledecky in a thrilling women’s 400m freestyle final, while Duncan Scott qualified fastest for the final of the men’s 200m freestyle.

Later on, it’s the final of the men’s artistic team all-around event, with two-time Olympic champion Joe Fraser, James Hall and Giarnni Regini-Moran among those looking to triumph for GB.

If it’s hockey action you seek, then both Britain teams are in action on Monday, with the men brushing Canada aside before the women hope to get their title defence on track against South Africa.
