Athletics is set to take its usual place as one of the Olympics’ flagship sports as the Games arrive in Tokyo this summer.

Leading British medal hopes lie with exciting young middle distance talent and pole valuter Holly Bradshaw. Dina Asher-Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson had to withdraw due to injury.
Great Britain have Reece Prescod and Zharnel Hughes and CJ Ujah in contention for the men’s 100m final.
