The new train model, 17000 series, of the Tokyo Metro Co. was unveiled to the press Tuesday at the company's Shinkiba rail yard in Koto Ward, Tokyo.
The new model will debut on the company's Yurakucho and Fukutoshin lines in February next year.
The exteriors are painted with lines of the color that represents each train line. The color of the Yurakucho Line is gold and that of the Fukutoshin Line is brown.

Additionally, the headlights are round in shape and resembles a gentle human face.
The interiors display a monotone color scheme -- with gold featured over the seats' backrests, and brown featured on the hanging straps.
All cars of the trains have "free spaces" to accommodate wheelchairs and baby carriages. The height of the floors was lowered by about 6 centimeters, compared with conventional models, and the floor near the doors are further inclined so that wheelchairs and baby carriages can get on and off more easily.
This is the first time in 15 years that a new model on the two Tokyo Metro lines has been introduced, the previous time was in 2006 with the 10000 series.
Currently, two models run on the lines -- the 10000 series and the 7000 series, which has been running since the opening of the Yurakucho Line in 1974.
The 17000 series will replace all of the 7000 series trains. Tokyo Metro will gradually introduce a total of 21 trains with the new model by fiscal 2022.
"By accumulating past technologies, we aimed to provide passengers with a sense of security and comfort," said an official of Tokyo Metro. "We hope the new model will serve as trains that can quietly support the daily lives of passengers."
