The Tokyo metropolitan government logged 828 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, up 117 from the same day in the previous week and marking the 27th consecutive day of week-on-week increases.
According to the metropolitan government, the Tuesday tally has not exceeded 800 since Jan. 26, when 1,026 cases were reported.
The seven-day moving average of new infections in Tokyo was 746.7, up 18.7% from the previous seven-day period of 629.3.
